myrtle cross is the art pseudonym I chose four years ago and it has stuck.
I'm Rose, I'm a multidisciplinary artist, writer, gardener and engineer.
I make collographs and prints from industrial materials to mimic surfaces of tools, and I’m learning to forge the tools themselves in steel. I write about rhizomes, technology, the female body, and Manchester, the city where I live. I’m interested in hand tools, and the continuity between making disciplines.
I am currently working on forging fragments, a practice-led research project supported by arts council england, developing my forging skills and the history of hand tools in print.
i am not available for commissions at the moment.
